Republican Chairman Endorses Mullarkey

Past Chairman of the Republican Party of Sarasota, Michael Seery today endorsed Independent John Mullarkey for County Commission District One. In a statement issued on Mullarkey’s website Seery stated he thinks “Mullarkey is the best qualified person in the race for County Commission District One, has a better grasp of the issues facing Sarasota County and can be counted on to represent all voters of Sarasota County”. He further stated that “John is more Republican in his thoughts, words and deeds then most of the Republicans in the County”. “John is the person who I want to look after Sarasota County for the next four years” said Seery at a recent meeting.

Seery was Chairman of the Republican Party of Sarasota County for five years and has been active in Sarasota’s Republican politics since 1972.

Mullarkey has two opponents, one Democrat and another Republican in his quest for election to the Sarasota County Commission. Mullarkey talked with Seery after learning that a group of Republicans are endorsing the Democrat in his race. It appears a secret deal was cut to endorse the Democrat and recruit a weak Republican, this was done at about the same time 12,500 anti-growth petitions disappeared. Seery had heard rumors to that effect and thought his endorsement of Mullarkey would alert the voters of Sarasota County that there was a good candidate in the race that would represent the voters in a Republican manner.

Mullarkey can be reached through his website http://www.mullarkey08.com/
